A man (34) died in an accident on the A24 motorway and a driver (57) was seriously injured.

Now the police are looking for two trucks.

Hagenow – Two trucks were targeted by the police after a fatal accident on the A24 motorway – escape!

Both trucks were heading towards Hamburg and, according to the police, should have noticeable damage: one truck with damage to the front and the second truck with noticeable damage to the rear.

The serious accident on the A24 in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania occurred shortly after midnight on Wednesday (March 30) between the Wöbbelin and Hagenow exits in the direction of Hamburg.

A 34-year-old died in the accident and a 57-year-old was seriously injured in the accident.

According to the police's previous findings, the 34-year-old was traveling in a Mercedes van towards Hamburg.

The man drove his van at high speed into a truck.

The pickup truck lost its engine, tipped on its side and stopped in the fast lane.

A 57-year-old then crashed his Mercedes into the wreck.

The Mercedes driver had just overtaken another truck and, according to the police, apparently recognized the accident Mercedes transporter too late.

The 34-year-old van driver died at the scene of the accident.

The Mercedes driver (57) from Berlin came to the Schwerin Clinic with serious injuries.

A driver in the oncoming lane saw the accident and immediately informed the police.

His vehicle was damaged by debris.

However, the two trucks fled after the accident.

Both truck drivers are said to have stopped about 200 meters shortly after the accident, but then simply continued driving.

The police assume that the truck overtaken by the Mercedes must have collided with the engine block of the Mercedes van.

That's why the police are looking for a truck with noticeable front damage.

The search for the two trucks was initially unsuccessful.

However, further investigations would be ongoing.

The police are taking tips.

The A24 was closed for hours after the fatal accident on Wednesday morning.

In addition to employees of the Autobahnmeisterei, there were volunteer fire brigades from Wöbbelin/Dreenkrögen, Lüblow and Rastow

in action.

According to their own statements, the Wöbbelin/Dreenkrögen fire brigade was on site from 0.15 a.m. to the end of the operation at 7.15 a.m.

After seven o'clock the full closure of the freeway was lifted.

An expert was consulted to reconstruct the course of the accident.

The property damage is estimated at at least 120,000 euros.

At the beginning of the year, an inattentive truck driver caused an extremely long traffic jam on the A24.

The driver was driving a dump truck and got stuck on a bridge.
