Authorities in the Chinese city of Langfang are reconsidering the order to kill pets of civilians who fell ill in Corona, the Fortune website reported last night (Thursday).
This, after reports spread about four months ago, according to which China decided to kill these pets in order to prevent the spread of the virus in its territory.
According to China's news service, the northern city of Langfang has decided to put all the pets of its citizens to sleep, and issued an order earlier this week.
"In order to ensure the safety of the patients returning home, it is necessary to comprehensively and thoroughly kill the animals of the patients as soon as possible," read an order issued in the city.

However, the Chinese News Service reported that any action taken under the order was suspended, following a protest by civilians.
There is no information on how many animals have been killed to date, if at all.
In the past, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States has said that the chances of pets spreading the corona virus are low.
The order to kill pets in Langfang is not the first time such a move has been made in China.
In January, Hong Kong collected and killed more than 2,500 hamsters due to fears that rodents would spread the virus.
In retrospect it turned out that hamsters did not carry it.
