Today, the People's Assembly concluded its thirtieth and final session of the fifth regular session of the third legislative session, which was held under the chairmanship of Hammouda Sabbagh, Speaker of the Assembly.

At the end of the session, Sabbagh stressed that the work during the session was useful and fruitful, legislative and oversight, whether in the permanent committees of the Council, the friendship and brotherhood committees or the sessions, indicating that the legislative work resulted in the discussion and approval of a number of draft laws. During the sessions, many life issues of interest to the homeland and the citizen were discussed and discussed with the executive branch.

Sabbagh pointed to the effective participation of the Council in a number of conferences and activities internally and externally, by attendance or virtually, addressing on behalf of the Council to salute the souls of the great martyrs, the Syrian Arab people and the brave army men led by President Bashar al-Assad, wishing that the blessed month of Ramadan would be a month of goodness, Yemen, blessing and peace for Syria.

At the beginning of the session, Minister of State for People's Assembly Affairs Abdullah Abdullah made a presentation on the most important topics and decisions discussed by the Council of Ministers in its previous session.

In their interventions, the council members demanded an improvement in the level of salaries and wages to reduce the gap between income and prices of commodities, especially food ones, a reduction in the hours of electrical rationing for various regions, monitoring the types and specifications of solar panels available in the markets, facilitating the procedures for their acquisition, and providing all service centers with electricity permanently.

The members called for the inclusion of other medical specialties in rewards, similar to the doctors and anesthesia technicians, and the intensification of work to secure the requirements of industrial production for government laboratories to increase their productivity and cover the needs of the local market, in addition to tightening control over markets and controlling prices, especially the prices of imported drugs such as cancer drugs, and combating their monopolists.

For his part, Minister Abdullah indicated that all proposals and questions submitted by the members will be presented to the ministries and concerned authorities to provide the Council with answers and clarifications in writing and to address them according to the available capabilities.

The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Amr Salem also gave a presentation on what the ministry has implemented from its plan since the beginning of the year, pointing out that wheat will be purchased from the farmer in the next season at remunerative and competitive prices, indicating that the Syrian trade halls continue to positively intervene and offer goods, foodstuffs, vegetables and fruits at competitive prices to the markets. And secure these materials in abundance.

Minister Salem made it clear that there will be no interruption of any basic material or commodity from the halls and markets.

In their interventions, a number of members called for the delivery of the regulated materials at once to the citizens and to work to avoid the arrival of the text message to receive the regulated material during the holidays, to increase the number of oil bottles for one family on the electronic card, to diversify foodstuffs in them, to secure consumables for the governorates of Deir ez-Zor and Hasaka, and to alleviate the suffering in obtaining Bread material and improve the quality of the loaf.

The members stressed the importance of strict control over markets and shops in cooperation with local councils, curbing prices, intensifying control over the mechanism for disbursing government advances granted to Syria for trade, distributing a sum of money to families to supply basic materials and commodities from the halls instead of food baskets in installments, fighting monopoly, holding monopolists accountable, and distributing the second batch. of Mazut.

The members indicated the necessity of deciding on all objections submitted to the exclusion of certain segments of government support, responding to these objections, tightening control over the furnaces and providing them with new generating sets or electric lines exempt from rationing.

In his response to the interventions, Minister Salem explained that the loaf of bread is gradually improving, but many seizures were recorded on a number of private bakeries for committing violations in the weight and specifications of the loaf of bread, as their owners were referred to the judiciary and received their punishment, but they returned to committing the same violations. Therefore, the list of violating bakeries was promoted, indicating that the Ministry It is working on preparing a very high incentive system to encourage work in the agencies affiliated with the Ministry in light of a shortage of numerical staff.

Minister Salem pointed out that the localization of bread has not been implemented in the governorate of Damascus, and it will not be applied currently unless information is fully available about all neighborhoods and needs. Work is currently being done to create a telephone information center to respond to citizens’ complaints, knowing that many complaints received against a number of residents have been addressed. The monitors in the supply patrols have been held legally accountable, and there are large supply controls against the monopolists of food supplies and commodities stored in homes and have been confiscated.
