China has expressed its rejection of the so-called (Indo-Pacific strategy) used by the United States to instigate confrontation between blocs in the region and attempts to return to the mentality of the Cold War.
Xinhua News Agency quoted Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi as saying at a press conference yesterday: "China stresses the need to prevent a return to the Cold War mentality and completely rejects confrontation between the camps based on the principle that states are either friends or enemies. Instead, China is committed to paying International solidarity and advocacy for the concept of common, cooperative, comprehensive and sustainable security while respecting and addressing the legitimate concerns of all parties.”
Wang reiterated his country's consistent stance in dealing with all hot issues on the basis of dialogue and justice, opposing any intervention to pour oil over fire and escalation of conflicts, calling for a cease-fire and supporting direct talks between Russia and Ukraine.
The Chinese official called for respecting the purposes and principles of the UN Charter as well as the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, stressing support for efforts to protect the legitimate rights and interests of all countries and opposing the unilateral sanctions policy that violates international law.
