Chinese President Xi Jinping renewed his call on the world to support dialogue between Russia and Ukraine, not to stoke the situation and add fuel to the fire.
"China deeply regrets that the situation in Ukraine has reached what it is today, and the European Union, Russia, the United States and NATO should establish a security mechanism in Europe," Jinping said during his video meeting with European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Jinping expressed his belief that the global economy may take years or even decades to recover from the consequences of the crisis and Western sanctions on Russia.
