The number of Covid-19 cases among students and staff increased in one week at school, reaching more than 88,000 and more than 11,000 respectively, when class closures remain stable, according to figures released on Friday April 1 by the Ministry.

Contaminations at school have continued to increase for a week.

In total, 88,722 cases of Covid have been confirmed among students cumulatively over the last seven days, against 81,424 last week, according to this data stopped Thursday at midday.

Among the staff, the Ministry of National Education has counted 11,637 cases over the last seven days, against 10,201 the previous week.

Class closures are stable.

The ministry lists 2,897 classes closed out of 527,215 classes in total, or 0.55%.

The previous week, there were 3,080 closed classes.

The academies most affected by class closures are those of Nancy-Metz, Aix-Marseille, Montpellier and Reunion.

As in the general population, the Covid epidemic does not end in schools, parents saying they are exhausted.

For three weeks, the 12.8 million pupils of the first and second degree have dropped the mask in class.

strongly recommended

" indoors from the age of 6, for contact persons at risk during the 7 days after the occurrence of the confirmed case as well as for confirmed cases during the 7 days following their period of isolation, according to the current protocol.

Only a prefectural decision, in the event of a local cluster, the return of the mask to the nose and mouth of the students could be imposed.
