On the occasion of the World Autism Awareness Day, which falls on the 2nd of April every year

Homs Governorate Club, in cooperation with the Executive Committee of the General Sports Federation and the Life Skills team, organized a collective march entitled (Metli Malik) in front of the Cultural Center towards Al Saraya Street and the New Clock, to return via Al Dublan Street to the starting point.

The head of the Governorate Club in Homs, Waseem Al-Ikhwan, indicated to SANA reporter that the march aims to shed light on people with autism disorder to help improve their quality of life, as they are an integral part of society.

The head of the Executive Committee of the General Sports Federation in Homs, Faisal Derby, explained that the participation of sports clubs and teams in the march stems from the importance of sport as an effective and influential societal condition within society, and because it is considered as a treatment that is no less important than the rest of the behavioral, pharmacological and psychological treatments for autism patients.

Head of the Life Skills Team of the Homs Culture Directorate, Saba Wassouf indicated that the team's participation is a step towards raising the community's awareness of autism and directing support to the affected and their families to obtain care and be able to participate in social activities.

Among the participants in the procession was the head of the Islamic Charitable Society, Dr. Nabil Al-Qaseer, who considered that providing appropriate support to autistic patients could allow them to enjoy equal opportunities and active participation in society, while the head of the Peace Club Ghassan Abu Salah stated that sports greatly help autistic patients, especially children, in motivating them. The march, which was attended by civil associations, voluntary teams and sports clubs, concluded with artistic segments that included playing a musical piece on the piano and a dance theatrical show with the participation of autistic children from the Spring Autism Society.
