The mammoth project is gradually taking shape.
With regard to the use of the property at Schwaigweg 1/Am Dorfbach 15, the Ohlstadt municipal council decided to commission a feasibility study.
The committee also made other decisions.
Ohlstadt
– the municipality of Ohlstadt bought it in 2018.
Since then there have been extensive debates about the use of the property at Schwaigweg 1/Am Dorfbach 15. Now the municipal council has once again put the issue on the agenda.
The panel decided that a feasibility study should be carried out.
The people's representatives agreed in principle with the draft by Laubenderarchitektur (13:2 votes).
The core refurbishment of the residential part was unanimously approved, as was the order to the administration to initiate the further steps in terms of the award procedure (VGV).
Clean out and rearrange rooms
The former threshing floor will be demolished and rebuilt.
A measure without any alternative due to structural reasons.
"The load-bearing capacity does not allow for any further dimensioning," explained architect Ramona Kannegiesser.
The living area, however, had to be gutted and rearranged because of its “small-scale spatial structure”.
A possible future division of the property had already been discussed with the planners from Bad Kohlgrub in a non-public meeting.
The areas of living, quiet business, office space to be rented temporarily (coworking space), use by the citizenry and associations as well as a generation meeting point reflect the basic preference.
Nevertheless, Mayor Christian Scheuerer (independent) referred to "sensible variants" that may not yet be on the screen.
"We want to be open to it,"
emphasized Scheuerer, who agrees with the design proposal and sees it "on the right track towards a community center".
"It was important to us to address everything from day guests to clubs, locals and seniors," explained Kannegiesser.
In this context, Scheuerer clarifies once again how important the issue of housing for the elderly is for the community.
The original idea of integrating care for the elderly into the property was rejected simply because of the lack of green spaces outside.
Alternative locations are in the early stages of consideration.

Tedious procedure
As far as the long-winded continuation in the form of "umpteen meetings" including a town meeting and questionnaire in the community newspaper is concerned, Scheuerer is asking for understanding.
They want to proceed with caution, make no mistakes and thus keep the "burden for future generations" low.
The project plus infrastructural costs is already estimated at around six million euros less "extremely high funding rates".
Divided into an estimated 1.65 million euros for the front part of the building on Schwaigweg and 3.75 million euros for the new building.
In the event of an unplanned explosion in costs or subsidies that do not correspond to the communicated amount, the municipality of Ohlstadt can withdraw the conception and project up until the building permit or tender.
It is now also clear that the garage of the Bavarian Red Cross will not be part of the occupancy of the building.
As of today, it will remain in its old place in the back of the town hall.
