They wanted to stop climate-damaging oil projects and therefore blocked access roads to oil tank farms in various places in England.
For this reason, dozens of climate activists were arrested on Friday and Saturday.
The Just Stop Oil group, which organized the protest, is demanding an immediate halt to all new oil and gas projects by the British government.
More than 80 arrests in two days in Essex alone
Already on Friday, the group, together with climate protectors from Extinction Rebellion, had blocked the access roads to ten tank farms in central and southern England.
As the British news agency PA reported, citing police authorities, 80 people were arrested in the county of Essex alone over the two days.
