The latest generation of the Skoda Fabia has had to pull itself a little further in the showrooms in Israel.
He was no longer competitive, but there was no choice.
Corona, manufacturing issues, chip shortages, etc. משך The sequel is clear - plans have changed.
But it is, it is behind us (hopefully), and if all goes well, then around Pesach, the new and fourth generation of the Skoda Fabia will land in Israel.
And it's completely different.

Different but quite similar.
At least in the mirror.
Someone at Skoda worked very hard to maintain the existing look even in the new generation.
Not a simple task when the dimensions have been increased in every possible parameter and significantly.
An addition of 11 cm in length, 5 cm in width and 9.5 cm for the wheelbase.
The respectable additions are definitely noticeable and the cabin is now one of the spaces in the segment.
Both in front, both in the rear and in the trunk, which received an addition of 50 liters to a large volume of 380 liters.
In the driver environment the business looks solid and good with proper design touches like the door handles for example.
But the various plastic parts, including those on doors with fabric upholstery, are hard to the touch and hollow to the touch.
In front of the driver is a projected dashboard (10.25), familiar from the other Skoda models, which offers several decent and legible display options in all of them.
The multimedia is also new with a 9.2-inch screen, but not everything in it is comfortable to use, for example the touch buttons for selecting the volume, or the original navigation interface.
On the other hand Fabia offers for the first time air vents in the rear.
Not a common interest in the segment.
In the field of power units there is nothing new.
The same outgoing generation units continue to the new generation.
Will lead the model turbo-gasoline engine, 3-cylinder, 110 hp mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
This unit requires a fraction of a second to build its power that is lacking below 2,000 rpm, but from there it pushes well and rewards with relaxed conduct in and out of the city.
The only complaint concerns the lack of gradualness of the box in slow-crawling driving and an overly noticeable bleeding / starting array.
In terms of comfort, the car suffers from excessive stiffness in the city which leads to vibration on small disturbances and bouncing on the large ones.
As the speed increases the comfort improves significantly.
The new generation is significantly better than its predecessor in almost every parameter, emphasizing the most important area for the target audience - usability.
It offers respectable cabin and trunk space, efficient power units and closes the gap that was missing in the area of safety with a host of active systems.
The price has not yet been determined, but the order of magnitude is clear: around NIS 100,000 for the basic automatic and up to NIS 125,000 for the 1.5-liter automatic.
For those who are less in a hurry, the importer is toying with the idea of a manual base version at a tempting price.
Us it is already interesting.
