Several people, including several children, died after heavy rains lasting several days caused flooding and landslides in the state of Rio de Janeiro, in southeastern Brazil, officials told affiliate CNN Brasil this Saturday.
A landslide in the city of Paraty claimed the lives of at least eight people: a father and seven of his children, who ranged in age from 2 to 17, according to information from authorities cited by the affiliate.
