"The situation is very serious." With these words, Treasurer Gregor Kamp agreed the finance committee of the municipal council to the 2022 budget.

Gröbenzell – The budget is shaped by the corona and building materials crisis, inflation and war.

One million euros per year alone is missing because the distribution key for the most important source of income has changed since 2021: income tax.

Around 17.9 million euros are to be received here in 2022.

Gröbenzell's piece of the pie has gotten smaller and the trend will probably continue.

The reason for this is mainly the development of Bavaria.

While the Free State is moving in, it is stagnating in Gröbenzell.

This reduces the contribution of the Gröbenzell to the total income.

The poor financial situation is also evident from the fact that Gröbenzell will receive a special allocation of 1.8 million euros for the first time in 2022.

Such an allocation is given to a municipality whose tax capacity is less than 75 percent of the national average.

The income from trade tax is estimated at eight million euros.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular FFB newsletter.)

Expenditure on staff is estimated at around 12.2 million euros, and around 12.5 million for the district levy.

As a remedy, the treasurer had several suggestions to increase rents, fees or real tax rates.

In addition, expenditure and income would have to be put to the test.

"If you read the paper subjectively, the treasury is worried about the future viability of the community," summed up SPD parliamentary group leader Peter Falk.

As a remedy, he suggested raising the trade tax.

At the request of Anton Kammerl (CSU), the council members learned how an increase in trade tax from the current 330 to 380 points would affect: 1.18 million euros more would flow into the coffers.

However, Falk's proposal met with mixed responses.

Martin Runge and Daniel Holmer (both Green) could imagine going up to 380 points in two stages.

Kammerl was also in favor of an increase.

Mayor Martin Schäfer (UWG) spoke out in favor of leaving the sentence at 330 points.

He could even imagine a reduction so that, as in other municipalities, more commercial enterprises settle.

He doesn't see the danger that Gröbenzell won't have the space: "There are smaller companies that don't need that much space."

"It's enough for letterbox companies," added Kammerl, alluding to the municipality of Grünwald.

However, the trade tax rate was not voted on.
