The municipality of Moosinning has made numerous "investments in the future", said Mayor Georg Nagler (SPD) at his first public meeting in office.

Eichenried

– The municipality of Moosinning has made major investments over the past two years.

As a result, the level of debt has skyrocketed.

But they were "investments in the future," said Mayor Georg Nagler (SPD) on Thursday evening at his first town meeting in office.

However, the interest of the Moosinninger was moderate.

Numerous chairs in the Bürgersaal Eichenried remained empty.

"Over the past two years we have worked together very productively and purposefully as a municipality and as a municipal council and have been able to make many things possible," summarized Nagler.

The citizens seem to be satisfied with this work: there was no need for discussion, only two inquiries were made - about broadband expansion and about the parking situation on Untere Point street.

Nagler spoke in detail about the broadband expansion on the subject of infrastructure (report follows), and he wants to take a look at the parking situation on site.

Debt grows to eleven million euros

It is true that the level of debt increased from 430,000 euros (per capita: just under 72 euros) at the end of 2020 to a good eleven million euros (per capita: 1940 euros) a year later as a result of the investments.

“But these were investments in the future.

We were able to acquire land on which we can create living space for our citizens and further develop our community," says Nagler.

One of these properties is the centrally located property of the former Gasthof Maier.

After the death of landlord Hans Maier, around 2700 square meters could be acquired.

"We don't yet know what we're going to do with it.

We secured it first," said Nagler.

He described it as a stroke of luck that the municipality was also able to buy the former savings bank building next to the town hall.

As is well known, this is to be expanded, and plans for the conversion are underway.

Property for fire brigade: "Like winning the lottery"

Nagler called the "Oestlich Gfällach" construction area a "very important step into the future", where a mix of apartment buildings, semi-detached and single-family houses is to be built (we reported).

The allocation of municipal land in the funding model is planned for the end of 2022/beginning of 2023.

In addition, the municipality was able to acquire further plots of land on which it wants to develop building land: The realization for the area between Amselweg and Vierergraben in Eichenried is planned by 2024.

And on Neuchinger Straße, the new Moosinninger fire station and other residential buildings are to be built - "for us like winning the lottery," said Nagler.

A development plan is to be drawn up here by 2026.

There is also more space for business – namely for six more lots (11,750 square meters) on the Bleichbach.

The construction of the access road has started.

Loans were taken out to finance all these projects, but land was also sold.

As reported, this includes the property on Sternstrasse.

The draft plan will be presented to City Council next Tuesday.

Extension of the elementary school: moving in after Easter

Nagler was also able to announce news about the sports grounds.

As reported, they originally wanted to solve the changing room and shower problem at FC Moosinning and the situation with the now closed Sportcafé Riff with a major solution.

In view of the costs, however, the handbrake was pulled.

A working group then drew up proposals: The FCM should “build up the shower building on its own responsibility” while the community takes care of the reef: In the medium term, they want to demolish the upper floor and rebuild it – including a kiosk.

Much further is the extension of the Moosinning primary school.

Teachers and children are to move in here after Easter.

Nagler was pleased to say that the cost estimate of almost three million euros would be met.

In the future, eleven classrooms will be available, also for the open all-day school (OGTS).

The mayor addressed words of thanks to his fellow councillors, but also to the staff in the building yard and administration.

There were some changes in the town hall due to retirement.

With manager Silvia Hermansdorfer "we have made a great stroke of luck", as well as with treasurer Susanne Pröschkowitz.

He particularly praised Christian Weigand from the building authority.

Last year he "achieved incredible things, especially in the course of the Eichenried through-road" (report to follow).
