Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that the Russian army almost completely destroyed the military capabilities of the Ukrainian forces during its special military operation to protect the residents of Donbass.
"The process of disarmament in Ukraine is in full swing and Ukraine's military capabilities and infrastructure were almost completely destroyed during the special operation," Peskov said in an interview with Belarus 1 TV.
In response to a question about Moscow's position in the event of a NATO attack on Belarus, Peskov said: We are united by mutual commitments, first within the framework of our federal state and secondly within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
"An attack on any member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization is an attack on Russia, and therefore there will be mutual and absolute support between Russia and Belarus, and this is a constant and no one should question that," Peskov added.
In a congratulatory message he sent today to his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko on the occasion of the Union Day between the Russian and Belarusian peoples, Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that Russia and Belarus were able in the recent period to achieve many things to develop constructive complementary cooperation between the two countries.
