Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed in a telephone conversation with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev the developments of the military operation in Ukraine.
In a statement, the Russian presidency said that Putin "informed Tokayev about the progress of the military operation to protect Donbass and the negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian officials."
The statement added that "Putin and Tokayev reviewed, during the phone call, bilateral relations, focusing on practical issues related to the development of economic and trade cooperation, in addition to strengthening cooperation within the framework of the integration structures of the countries of the Eurasian region."
According to the statement, "the joint endeavor to take all possible steps to strengthen the alliance and strategic partnership relations between Russia and Kazakhstan was confirmed."
