The Russian Ambassador to Britain Andrei Kelin announced today that the long-range artillery and anti-ship systems that London has promised to provide to Kyiv will become legitimate targets for Russian forces if they are handed over to Ukrainian forces.
In an interview with TASS, Keelen pointed out that "all these weapons, especially the advanced ones that British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace recently mentioned, worsen the situation and lead to instability, so they will be considered a legitimate target for our armed forces if they cross the Ukrainian border."
The Russian diplomat pointed to the British misconception about the Russian military operation in Ukraine and said in this regard: “London’s information on what is happening in Ukraine from a military point of view is based on very positive reports of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and the authorities in Kyiv, and if we look at the maps published by British newspapers and magazines We will realize that it relies exclusively on Ukrainian sources.”
Keelen considered that the steps taken by the British government regarding the situation in Ukraine are aimed at further escalation.
Keelen's comments come at a time when Washington and its allies in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) continue to send weapons to Kyiv, where Britain sent (Starstrike) anti-aircraft missiles as part of a weapons package that includes thousands of advanced missiles and light anti-tank weapons, while US President Joe announced Biden recently announced an additional $1 billion in military aid to Ukraine, after previously allocating $13.6 billion.
