The Salhab Forest Nursery of the General Authority for Forest Management and Development began distributing free forestry plants to families to plant them in the home garden under the slogan “Our forests are our past, our present, our future, and the tree is the lung of life.”

Engineer Issa Hassan, head of the Salhab Al-Haraji nursery, said in a statement to SANA reporter that 5 forest plants were distributed to each family wishing to plant them in the home garden or any forest site with the aim of encouraging family participation in afforestation campaigns and increasing vegetation cover and green spaces to compensate for what forest wealth has lost during the years. past as a result of fires or encroachments.

And he indicated that the nursery distributes the various forest plants free of charge to the administrative units, and the campaign continues successively for each village, and all families benefit from it. The distribution takes place daily and during official working hours to include more than one municipality and administrative unit.

For his part, the Director of Raqqa Agriculture, Muhammad Al-Khathli, indicated that within the family forestry afforestation initiative, about 2,500 plants were received from Salhab nursery for distribution to the liberated countryside of Raqqa, at a rate of five seedlings per family, taking into account the selection of varieties that suit the governorate’s environment.
