On the occasion of the World Autism Awareness Day, the Al-Majd Association for Mothers of Children with Disabilities, in cooperation with the Anis Saadeh Angelic Association for People with Disabilities, organized an entertainment event for children in Safita with the aim of spreading community awareness about this disease.
The event, which was held at the headquarters of Al-Majd Association, included recreational activities for the participating children, such as music, drawing, coloring and other activities, in addition to distributing gifts to them.
Director of Al-Majd Association Lina Jahjah told SANA reporter that the goal of the event is to raise awareness of autism and the need for early detection by parents of any disability and follow-up by specialists.
In his turn, the scientific supervisor of Al-Majd Society, Dr. Kinan Al-Sheikh, drew attention to the importance of effectiveness in achieving integration between autistic and healthy children, following up on the extent of their interaction within the activities, communicating with them, breaking down barriers between them and creating a safe space for them to play.
Mays Suleiman, the facilitator of activities in the Anis Saadeh Angelic Association, pointed out the association's role in implementing various activities to integrate autistic children with their healthy peers.
