Hyundai expresses Korean ambition for excellence and makes a technological and design revolution on the way to the top of the global automotive industry

South Korea is probably the best example when it comes to technological innovation leading an entire country.

As one of the largest industrial and technology companies in the country, Hyundai probably reflects and represents most of all the accelerated technological development process of South Korea, as it is also one of its main contributors.

The company's research and development design centers are constantly working on the technologies that will move the automotive industry forward.

This is prompted by the fact that the origin of the name "Hyundai" comes from the Korean word "modernity".

Hyundai's leap to the top of the global automotive industry has been achieved after years of perseverance and investment of billions of dollars.

The result: Hyundai is now a leader in all areas of motor technology, with a future vision to be the leading manufacturer in the industry by 2030 in the production and implementation of electric propulsion and autonomous driving technologies.

Originality and design boldness

A new and original design concept characterizes the new generation of Hyundai products, while emphasizing athleticism and aerodynamic efficiency, which reflects the technological revolution that the company is implementing in all areas.

The first and most distinct expression of the sensational leap made by Hyundai can be found in the design revolution that the brand models are going through.

The revolution is led by the head of the company's design department, Luke Dunkerwalk, one of the most prominent designers in the automotive world in recent decades.

Under his hands, Hyundai has adopted a bold and unique design line built on the basis of computerized algorithms that allow to merge different angles and cuts on surfaces on several layers.

The prominent element of the new design language is called the "progressive jewelry", which can be found on the front of the new Hyundai Tucson, in which the fixed LED lighting units are camouflaged within the three-dimensional front layer.

The creation of such a facade, as well as the polished body sculptures that could not be applied in the past, were made possible thanks to the advanced production technologies that Hyundai has implemented in its factories.

This unique design line can be found in other Hyundai models and will continue to evolve and accompany the company's future models as well.

In addition, the creativity of the design department is also reflected in models with their own unique design line, such as the Hyundai Staria which features an unusual design for a serial passenger carrier, and of course it is impossible without mentioning the revolutionary IONIQ 5.

IONIQ 5 is a model in the IONIQ electric series, which brings with it a spectacular design with futuristic lines.

Alongside this, IONIQ combines 5 retro touches thanks to the pixel element embedded in the various vehicle parts, and especially in the lighting units consisting of dozens of LED lights that create a light signature that can not be mistaken even from a long distance.

The futuristic design of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is designed to highlight the technological capabilities embedded in the car, from the advanced electric propulsion unit, through ultra-fast battery charging technology to a combination of advanced active safety systems that give the car semi-autonomous driving capability.

Through a unique and unusual design, Hyundai chooses to position the technological gospel, which it brings to the automotive industry and the world, and accordingly these design and technological achievements have given Hyundai IONIQ 5 a variety of awards in car and design competitions.

The list of awards includes winning the title of "Car of the Year" in seven European countries, including the United Kingdom and Germany, the Best Buy Award for 2022 and the Design Award in the Good Design competition.

The general public is also connected to the design and technological gospel of IONIQ 5, when more than 50,000 units of this model were sold in its first year of marketing.

With such a strong presence and a futuristic statement, it is not surprising to find that the IONIQ 5 has also been chosen to star on the big screen in the new Spider-Man movie series.

High technology for maximum safety

On the way to an era of autonomous driving, Hyundai is already implementing in its cars advanced active safety systems with artificial intelligence, to assist the driver and prevent accidents that set a new standard in the automotive industry.

Another area where Hyundai carries the banner of progress is safety, with the development of unique solutions that harness an array of radar, sensors and cameras to create an augmented reality deciphered by artificial intelligence capability.

This means that the car can read what is happening around it at all times, and accordingly alert the driver to various dangers on the road, and when necessary to act independently while braking or steering repairs to prevent an accident.

Beyond the fact that Hyundai is a leader in the development of such capabilities, thinking outside the box of the development people makes it possible to refine familiar safety systems that also exist in other cars, and to upgrade their capability by adding unique features.

An excellent example of this can be found in the BVM system developed by the company.

Instead of settling for a visual or audible warning of dangerous traffic in the "dead zones", whenever the driver wants to change lanes and turn on the signal, the system uses the car's perimeter display cameras to photograph and project what is happening on the sides of the vehicle onto the dashboard screen.

This is basically how the system gives the driver a panoramic view that he can not only get from looking at the side mirrors.

The operation of the BVM system is complemented by the Hyundai BCA system, which goes into action if the driver ignores the approaching danger, when it is able to take command and prevent the passage of the lane if there is a danger of a collision.

Whether it's design, safety or green and environmentally friendly propulsion units, Hyundai strives to be at the forefront of technological development in the automotive industry in all areas and harness the knowledge to create smart solutions that will improve the interface and connection between man and car.

Hyundai's vision for leadership, coupled with Korean ambition, blend together to lead us to an advanced motoring future with exciting and exceptional cars.
