More than 90 illegal immigrants drowned in the Mediterranean.
The Associated Press reported that the migrants were on a boat that left Libya last week and capsized during the trip, causing the drowning of more than 90 people, while four migrants were rescued in international waters by an oil tanker whose passage coincided with its passage.
The agency indicated that the rescued migrants stated that they were on board the boat with 100 other people, noting that the European Border Protection Agency (Frontex) and other European agencies were invited to follow up on the details of the accident and find a safe place for the migrants.
About 300 migrants died while crossing the central Mediterranean between January 1 and the end of March, according to the International Organization for Migration.
