With the participation of about 22 companies, the activities of the Souk Al-Khair Festival, organized by Lattakia Governorate, in cooperation with the branch of the Syrian Trade Corporation, the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, and economic activities in the governorate, were launched today in the Apamea complex.

The market provides visitors with foodstuffs, including cereals, canned goods, dates, juices, and Ramadan requirements, in addition to detergents and others at competitive prices.

In statements to SANA reporter, Sami Halil, director of the Syrian branch of trade in Latakia, mentioned that they offer Ramadan baskets at a value of 50 thousand pounds in their booth, and others at a value of 100,000 pounds, pointing to the availability of oils and fats at cost.

Ahmed Zaher, director of internal trade and consumer protection in Lattakia, indicated that most of the companies in the governorate were invited to supply the market with quantities of goods with a small profit margin to provide everything the citizen needs at reasonable prices.

Sumer Ruwili, the marketing officer of one of the participating companies, explained that the festival allows communication between the producer and the consumer directly, and thus the goods are sold at the wholesale price.

A sales representative in one of the legumes and grains companies stated that they sell their products within the festival at lower prices than the market, while Nawar Youssef, a representative of a chain of trade stores, confirmed that their goal is to share the provision of basic foodstuffs such as oils, rice and ghee at cost to citizens.

A number of citizens expressed their satisfaction with the prices compared to the markets, hoping that such initiatives would continue to be launched to secure their needs at reasonable prices.
