With the participation of 250 national industrial and commercial companies, the activities of the Ramadan Good Market Festival “Syria brings us together” were launched this evening in the old fair city in Damascus, which is organized by the Damascus Governorate in cooperation with the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside and the Chambers of Commerce in Damascus and its countryside, which will continue until the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Participants in the festival present a variety of food products, including confectionery, canned goods, sweets, pasta and jams, in addition to detergents of all kinds, women's, men's and children's clothing, leather and household electrical appliances.

The Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil, explained that this and other shopping festivals provide an opportunity for direct sales of the product to the consumer and to break some intermediate loops that result in additional price margins, noting that many companies offer offers at various rates lower than the market from 15 to 25 percent, in addition to promotional offers that help in marketing the product during the exhibition.

Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh stressed the importance of the festival, which offers a large variety of goods that satisfy the tastes of consumers, pointing to the cooperation of all participants as a charitable work to ease the burdens on citizens.

In turn, the Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Amr Salem, explained that every citizen can obtain the materials he desires, whether on a daily or weekly basis, and therefore there is no need to store materials with a large assortment at excellent prices, pointing out that a pledge was obtained from the participating companies to reduce their prices.

For his part, the Governor of Damascus, Adel Al-Olabi, announced that this festival is a continuation of the initiative of goodness that was launched last year with the aim of alleviating the living burdens on citizens in light of the difficult economic conditions that the country is going through through selling directly from the producer to the consumer, noting the role of the owners of participating events and their social responsibility. Securing the various needs of consumers during the month of fasting at acceptable and discounted prices and profit with the lowest margin.

The Governor of Damascus Countryside, Moataz Abu Al-Nasr Jamran, drew attention to the importance of the festival by presenting a wide range of goods from the producer to the consumer at prices lower than the market.

For his part, the head of the Damascus Chamber of Industry, Samer Al-Debs, explained that there is cooperation with all economic activities in the governorate of Damascus and its countryside to present the largest shopping festival in the month of Ramadan in order to provide goods at reduced prices and contribute to the process of positive intervention and price reduction.

Waseem Qattan, Secretary of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, explained that the broad participation of companies aims to secure the largest amount of materials required of citizens at reduced prices.

Head of the Damascus Countryside Chamber of Commerce Osama Mustafa pointed out that the preparation for the festival took two full months with the aim of securing goods for citizens from consumers of the product at the lowest prices, indicating that there are 30 outlets for NGOs and charitable organizations that offer their products in the market.
