After trying last fall to convince Lionel Jospin to run for president 20 years after his retirement from political life, Léonard Héliot, Jacques Torregano and Philippe Laumont have just put their documentary dedicated to this epic online for free.

“This project made us laugh.

We want to show it to as many people as possible by the second round of the presidential election, ”summarizes Philippe Laumont after having surveyed with his two acolytes the kilometers from Paris to the Ile de Ré where the octogenarian has a second home.

A few surprises

Soberly baptized "Lionel", this 52-minute film did not convince the broadcasters, regret their creators.

They nevertheless hope to project it in independent cinemas and will present it in several festivals such as the Figrot, the International Grolandais Film Festival in Toulouse.

One certainty: the three accomplices could not meet the former Prime Minister in Ars-en-Ré.

"But the film has some surprises in store, raises questions about people's commitment and expectations", gauges Philippe Laumont, who has since been contacted by… Lionel Jospin.
