Rodrigo Chaves leads Costa Rica's presidential race

Costa Rica elected president this Sunday in a second round in which, as in the February elections, a high rate of abstention was recorded.

According to the cut of preliminary results of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal around 22:14 pm ET, with 89.05% of the boards processed, Rodrigo Chaves led the race with 52.9% of the votes.

His opponent, José María Figueres, had 47.1% of the votes.
