More than 50,000 passengers pass through Ben Gurion Airport every day recently.
These are record numbers that have been registered at the gate of entry and exit from Israel since the beginning of the Corona period, and it is estimated that the numbers will continue to rise and reach 70,000 passengers and more during the Passover period.
Ben Gurion Airport workers tell Israel Today about what is happening there in recent days: "Dozens of passengers did not make it to their flights due to the heavy loads at Ben Gurion Airport. We do not blame anyone, there is a shortage of workers and there is a serious problem that needs to be resolved." That's a big deal. "
As we published here for the first time, Ben Gurion Airport workers warned that they would collapse during the Passover period and that passengers would not be able to get to their flights. Now, as mentioned, some of them tell Israel today: "It just hurts, some of them strangers who didn't know how to make noise and mess."
This morning, the employees' committee of the Airports Authority announced that the Passover holiday of the day's employees at the authority will be canceled.
All employees will need to assist at the airport in due course that try to minimize the expected loads.
The committee says that unfortunately there will still be long queues due to the severe shortage of manpower in the aviation industry and calls on passengers to be patient.

Other Ben Gurion Airport employees with whom we spoke explain that another reason why passengers miss flights recently is that there are airlines that place limited staff at the airport and so they are actually not enough to take care of passengers who are forced to stay in the country.
Currently, there is no expectation of relief from the heavy loads at Ben Gurion Airport, the VIP companies that shorten queues no longer allow new customers to get in the coming weeks.
