Many corona rules fall in Bavaria.

Only the basic protection remains.

We explain which special measures apply to schools and daycare centers.

Munich – Let's not give ourselves false hope: The corona virus is still there and will not go away anytime soon.

The handling of the pandemic is changing in Germany.

The current Corona Protection Ordinance expires on April 2nd, more precisely: the transition phase.

From April 3rd, only the so-called basic protection measures that were defined by the traffic light coalition around Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) will apply.

Additional restrictions can only apply in regions that are explicitly designated as hotspots.

Corona in Bavaria: No hotspot regulations in Bavaria

The Bavarian state government around Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) is initially refraining from using this tool.

Despite the immensely high incidence values.

Here we have listed the general Corona rules in Bavaria.

But what does all this mean for the youngest in Bavaria?

So: What will children and young people expect in the future?

We are looking at the applicable Corona rules in schools and daycare centers from April 3rd.

Mask requirement:

In schools and day-care centers, nobody is obliged to cover their mouth and nose.

However, Head of State Florian Herrmann (CSU) said: "We recommend things like minimum distance, like masks indoors." In this context, Minister of Education Michael Piazolo (Free Voters) mentioned meeting areas outside the classroom, such as staircases and corridors.

Compulsory test: Putting

a stick in the mouth or nose for a short moment will remain part of everyday life for children and young people for the time being.

Schools and daycare centers should continue to be tested regularly and to the same extent as before.

That means: three times a week self-test, PoC antigen quick test or PCR test, alternatively participation in PCR pool tests.

Exceptions are vaccinated or recovered children.

For the time being, the test regulation applies until the Easter holidays, i.e. for one school week.

In daycare centers that are open during the holidays, the tests should be continued during this time.

Piazolo is already calling for the regular tests to be continued afterwards, but the cabinet has to decide on that.

If infections occur within a class or group, the test regime should be strengthened.

Quarantine:

If there is a major corona outbreak that affects around half of a class, the school management is entitled to send the entire class to distance learning.

However, this should not already apply to a single case.
