In the trial of the violent death of a man in front of an apartment door in Halle, the public prosecutor's office demanded that the accused be acquitted.
The subsequent victim and his companions had armed themselves with dangerous objects in order to injure the accused, it was said on Monday before the Halle Regional Court.
In September 2020, the argument broke out in an apartment building in Halle-Neustadt.
Halle – The accused had confessed to having attacked the 31-year-old with a knife.
He felt threatened by the two men and wanted to protect his partner's child from them.
The public prosecutor had charged him with dangerous bodily harm resulting in death.

The man was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison in 2021 by the Halle Regional Court for the deadly knife attack.
On the other hand, he appealed.
The Federal Court of Justice then referred the case back to the district court for a hearing in another chamber.
According to the public prosecutor, however, the defense of the 22-year-old was expected to make a plea.
It was initially unclear whether the verdict would also be pronounced during the day.
