Police are looking for several suspects after the mass shooting that left 6 dead and 12 injured in Sacramento, California

Police in Sacramento, California are still searching for the perpetrators of the mass shooting that killed six people and wounded 12 others in the downtown area.

Authorities said they are looking for

at least two people suspected of opening fire

Police Chief Kathy Lester released few details of the investigation, pleading with the public to share videos and other evidence that could lead to the killers.

“The level of violence that has just occurred in our city is unprecedented in my 27 years here,” Lester said during a news conference at police headquarters. 

“We are shocked and heartbroken by this tragedy.

But we are also determined, as an agency, to find those responsible and to achieve justice for the victims and families,” he added.

Lester said officers heard gunshots and arrived at the scene at 10th and K streets, about two blocks northwest of the state Capitol, and near the Golden 1 Center, where the NBA's Sacramento Kings basketball team plays. .
