A fatal accident occurred in the Weilheim-Schongau district on Sunday afternoon near Seeshaupt.

A large contingent of rescuers, including helicopters, arrived.

.: The person who died in an accident is a 93-year-old woman from Munich.

She was the passenger next to her 62-year-old daughter in a dark-colored Dacia minivan.

The two were on the state road from Seeshaupt towards Weilheim when the accident happened.

Serious accident near Seeshaupt: Geretsrieder (38) suddenly in oncoming traffic

A 38-year-old Geretsrieder came towards them with his small silver Dacia car.

For reasons that have not yet been clarified, Eisenrain suddenly got into the oncoming lane in a right-hand bend at this height.

The two vehicles collided head-on and wedged into each other.

Although all occupants were buckled up, according to the Penzberg police, they suffered serious injuries.

First responders, including an emergency doctor, began treating the injured immediately after the accident.

The accident driver had to be freed from his car by the fire brigade, which was smoking heavily in the engine compartment.

The fire brigade extinguished the wreck.

Two rescue helicopters brought the 62-year-old from Munich and the 38-year-old from Geretsrieder to the nearby accident clinic.

The rescuers could not do anything for the 93-year-old, she died at the scene of the accident.

In addition to the Weilheim and Penzberg police, the Seeshaupt, Magnetsried, Bernried and Tutzing fire brigades were on site with a total of 64 emergency services.

Three ambulances with emergency doctors and two rescue helicopters were used to treat the injured. 

On the order of a representative of the Munich II public prosecutor's office, an expert was appointed to clarify what happened at the scene of the accident, and blood was taken from the two drivers.

The road was closed for around 4 hours.

First report, Sunday, April 3, 5:03 p.m.:

Seeshaupt – The accident happened on Sunday afternoon (April 3) at around 2:30 p.m. between Seeshaupt and Magnetsried in the Weilheim-Schongau district.

There, for reasons that are still unclear, a vehicle swerved into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with an oncoming car.

According to previously unconfirmed initial information from the scene of the accident, two people were seriously injured and a third person died at the scene of the accident.

Fatal accident near Seeshaupt: large number of rescuers on site

Several fire brigades, three ambulances and two rescue helicopters with emergency doctors were ordered to the scene of the accident.

As the police announced, an accident expert was requested by the Munich public prosecutor.

The St2064 will remain completely closed until the evening hours.
