Are the days of Riad Salamé numbered?
Rumors are rife in Lebanon concerning the possible political release of the omnipotent governor of the central bank, prosecuted in particular for embezzlement, financial embezzlement and money laundering, in several European capitals and now in Lebanon itself.
The governor remains firmly in place for the time being and continues to be part of the negotiating team with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), of which he met a delegation on a fortnight's mission to Beirut to discuss a possible out of crisis.
