Starnberg - Refugees from Ukraine who are willing to work should be able to work as quickly as possible.

The district office issues a temporary residence permit with a work permit to all those entitled to do so.

“In a feat of strength, we entered the data of more than 1,300 refugees from the Ukraine who are now living with us in the central register of foreigners.

Now we will issue the work permits as quickly as possible and give priority to cases in which we are already aware of an imminent employment relationship," explains District Administrator Stefan Frey in a current press release.

"So if you need a work permit quickly, please send an e-mail to the address ukraine-arbeit@lra-starnberg.de.

Then we will process them preferentially.”

Priority will be given to those who have work prospects

49 work permits have so far been issued by the immigration authorities to refugees from Ukraine who are of working age.

“After all, 725 refugees between the ages of 18 and 67 are currently accommodated in the district, including many women with children in need of care.

We definitely assume that there will be a few people who are willing to work.

If you want to work, you should be able to.

It must not fail because of the necessary work permit," says District Administrator Frey.

In principle, the Ukrainian (biometric) passport is required for the issuance of a work permit.

An employment contract is not required for this.

The district office has set up a separate e-mail address so that the examination and issue can be carried out quickly.

After verification by the immigration authorities, the fictional certificate is usually sent by post.

Therefore, it is important that the mailbox of the accommodation shows the surname of the refugee.

Contact the Employment Agency with a work permit

If they have a work permit, refugees can contact the Employment Agency to look for work.

This has set up a hotline for this purpose, advice is voluntary and free of charge.

Employees who speak Ukrainian and Russian provide information on the most important questions via the central telephone number 0911/178 7915.

The hotline is staffed Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

On Tuesday, 60 companies found out online about employing refugees

The company for economic development gwt has launched a call for companies to report vacancies that can be filled with refugees from Ukraine.

At the same time, more than 60 companies have registered to take part in an online event on Tuesday, April 5, at 3 p.m. organized by gwt in cooperation with the Starnberg Employment Agency and the Bavarian Business Association.

"It is important to us to provide information at a very early stage about the conditions for integrating Ukrainian refugees into the work process," explains Annette von Nordeck, head of economic development at gwt.

Companies interested in participating should contact nordeck@starnbergammersee.de.

Hotline answers questions about refugee aid

All information about the Ukraine help can be found on the homepage of the district office at www.lk-starnberg.de/ukrainehilfe.

Questions are also answered by the hotline on 08151/148-77799 or ukraine-hilfe@lra-starnberg.de.
