Director of Homs Chamber of Industry Salem Al-Loush indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the distribution of 16,000 baskets today comes as a continuation of the distribution of about 20,000 baskets last Thursday to the neediest families.

Vice President of the Homs Chamber of Commerce Halim al-Akhras indicated that this initiative is a continuation of the previous initiative that started last year under the title “People of Goodness,” explaining that it comes as a result of the concerted efforts of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the donation of many businessmen and industrialists.

The treasurer of the Homs Chamber of Commerce, Samer Safwa, explained that this initiative includes the countryside and the city, during which work has been done on justice in the distribution, stressing that the Chamber of Commerce will conduct several charitable activities during the holy month at prices close to cost.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Karam Al-Shami Charitable Society, Dr. Mumtaz Al-Madani, pointed out the importance of these humanitarian initiatives and identifying the families most in need to support them with food baskets during the blessed month of Ramadan, pointing out that the association’s cadres are working to provide a number of Ramadan initiatives, including a fasting breakfast.

The Executive Director of the Martyr Foundation in Homs, Muhammad Rahmoun, indicated that more than 1,300 families of the wounded and martyrs most in need benefited from the initiative, out of the total registered in the Foundation in Homs, which amounted to about 8,000.
