Ursula Habarak married an SS officer in the 1970s and set up a "Holocaust Research Center" where she spread severe Holocaust denial • For the third time in five years she will now be sent to prison • The judge angrily slapped her: "Nothing will stop you"

A court in Berlin last Friday sentenced Orsula Barbeck, known as the "Nazi grandmother," to 12 months in prison for Holocaust denial.

The 93-year-old German Barbak, who was married to an SS officer, is a well-known Holocaust denier, who calls the Holocaust, among other things, "the lie of Auschwitz" and claims that it was not an extermination camp with gas chambers but a labor camp.

Despite his advanced age, Barbak has already been convicted three times in the last five years for Holocaust denial that is considered a criminal offense in Germany and even ran a long prison term in practice.

Barbak was first convicted of Holocaust denial in 2017 and then again in 2020. She is now convicted for the third time, while the judge rejects her appeal to convert her prison term into a fine, partly due to the fact that she refused to express remorse for her remarks.

"You are not an investigator of the Holocaust. You are a Holocaust denier," the judge slapped her.

"It's not information you spread, it's poison. Nothing will stop you and our words will have no effect on you."

It should be noted that in 2018, after she was first convicted, the "Nazi grandmother" caused a stir when she did not show up at the prison gates to begin serving her prison sentence.

For a week there was a chase after her, but she was eventually located in her home - after returning to it.

Barbak has been an active and active Holocaust denier for decades.

After marrying an SS officer in the early 1970s, she spent decades in charge of the Holocaust Research Center, which published antisemitic material and distributed content that denied the Holocaust until it closed in 2008.

Since then, Barbak has continued to take part in public appearances, in which she has continued to distribute antisemitic content, even though she has been convicted of the offense several times.

"It is unfortunate that this woman who is still so active at her age is using her energy to spread false information about such hair nail," the judge who heard her case concluded.
