The town band was founded 25 years ago.
On the occasion of this anniversary, the patron, former Mayor Sepp Kellerer, donated an apple tree of the old "Alkmene" variety.
Fürstenfeldbruck – With a full blanket of snow and temperatures barely above freezing, he was planted in the presence of the musicians around the chairman Benedikt Trouw on the monastery grounds.
This reminded of the "tender little plant of the town band" when it was founded, and the intention that the town band should represent the city.
It was therefore important to enable her to develop well.
The former mayor was happy about the great development of the town band, and in particular about the successful work with young people by conductor Paul Roh.
(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular FFB newsletter.)
The founding father, honorary member and former mayor Sepp Kellerer compared the town band to the trunk of a tree: the branches are the board, the orchestra and the necessary administrative work, the leaves are the musicians - and with the youth work one hopes that the tree will bear plenty of fruit carries.
The farmer, who has always thought and acted sustainably, spontaneously created a new farmer's rule: "If you plant a tree in the snow, the apples grow big and beautiful."
Together with the founding conductor and honorary conductor Helmut Buchbauer, the speakers placed the little tree, decorated with ribbons in the colors of the town band, in the orchard in Fürstenfeld.
In addition, the town band played the march "White-Blue", which is always dedicated to the memory of the founding chairman Josef Willis.
A sign attached to the tree now reminds us of this.
Afterwards there was a hearty snack in the group room in house 10, to which the strong men from the building yard who had firmly anchored the tree were also invited.
