District – The new basic protective measures have been in effect since Sunday, April 3rd, and are initially limited to April 30th.

The continuation of general protective and hygiene measures is recommended.

This includes maintaining the minimum distance, wearing medical face masks in closed rooms and, if necessary, voluntary hygiene concepts, such as visitor management or disinfection.

“I would like to appeal to all citizens to remain cautious and to be considerate of each other despite the abolition of most rules.

By voluntarily wearing a mask and maintaining the minimum distance, you not only protect yourself and others, but you also help to prevent our clinics from being overloaded," says Erding's District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer.

Where is there still a mask requirement?

The mask requirement remains in place in facilities such as medical practices, hospitals, prevention and rehabilitation facilities where care is provided that is comparable to hospitals, facilities for outpatient surgery, dialysis facilities, day clinics, emergency services, outpatient nursing services, full and semi-residential care facilities and facilities for people with disability.

In addition, the mask requirement still applies in public transport and also in homeless and refugee facilities, except in private premises.

In all other indoor areas, such as in retail and gastronomy, the obligation to wear masks and tests does not apply – unless the operators or owners order them on their own responsibility by domiciliary rights.

For example, in the Erding district office, the obligation to wear an FFP2 mask, especially on traffic routes, applies until further notice.

The mask requirement and the 3G rule will also remain in place in the Markt Schwaben town hall.

Tests will continue to be carried out in schools and daycare centers.

If there is a confirmed case of infection in a class or group, more tests will continue to take place.

Access to vulnerable facilities such as hospitals, retirement and nursing homes as well as access to prisons is only possible for visitors with a rapid test that is updated daily.

Vulnerable facility workers continue to need two tests per week if vaccinated or recovered, and daily tests if not vaccinated or recovered.

Quarantine rules in April

The regulations for the isolation and quarantine of contact persons will remain the same for the time being.

In principle, the isolation period is 10 days;

a free test is possible from day 7.

For close contacts who are neither fully vaccinated nor recovered, there is also a 10-day quarantine with the possibility of free testing after 7 days.

Deviating exception: For pupils and for children who attend day-care centers, child day-care centers or curative education day-care centers, the quarantine at home ends if the close contact with the index case was at least 5 days ago, no symptoms typical of Covid-19 occurred during the quarantine and a PCR or antigen test carried out no earlier than 5 days after the last close contact shows a negative result.

From May 1st, the obligation to isolate infected people and contact persons will no longer apply.
