Because of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, sanctions were imposed by Western countries against Russia, Vladimir Putin and his oligarchs.
Their riches – in the case of the oligarch Suleyman Abusaidovich Kerimov it is said to be around 8.9 billion euros – were partially frozen.

But is the Solandge, whose owner is on the EU sanctions list, allowed to leave the port of Hamburg?
According to information from the BILD newspaper, the federal departments have no legal way of preventing ships from leaving the port of Hamburg.
Only customs should intervene in the event of sanctions violations.
The fact is, the Russian yacht has not left Hamburg.
According to 24hamburg.de information, the floating luxury palace is said to have "only" recalibrated its compass.
To do this, the boat would have to cast off and turn in circles for hours.
However, it is not known how far the work on the ship itself has progressed and whether the luxury yacht could “simply” leave Hamburg.
