Prince William has apparently stepped on his father Charles' toe with his recent actions.

The heir to the throne should even feel downright ignored by his son.

LONDON – The British line of succession has existed in its current form for decades.

Prince Charles (73) will one day inherit the crown from his mother Queen Elizabeth (95) and rule England.

Charles' son Prince William (39) is also in the starting blocks and is said to be planning some changes in the royal family.

Prince Charles will be crowned the next king with Duchess Camilla (74) at his side after the death of Queen Elizabeth.

Since the 95-year-old regent has been suffering from health problems, this day has suddenly become more and more real for many Britons.

However, the queen is brave and does not even think about giving up the scepter prematurely and abdicating.

Many royal fans would like the Prince of Wales to pass the crown directly to his son Prince William when the time comes.

He and his wife Kate Middleton (40) could stand for a dynamic new beginning and lead the monarchy into a modern age.

The next heir to the throne is already making his ambitions clear.

Too obvious if his father has his way.

William is said to have already created a roadmap for his future.

After the Cambridges' controversial Caribbean trip, he sat down with advisors to discuss the problems of the trip and the planning of future representative appearances, it is said.

It was also discussed how the royal family could be modernized.

Prince Charles "highly irritated" by William's behavior: he apparently feels "forgotten"

Prince Charles is said to be anything but enthusiastic about this zest for action and to feel "forgotten" and ignored.

"I think that got Charles and Camilla thinking at Clarence House.

From the way William and his advisors discussed it, you'd think they'd forgotten he wasn't the next king.

It shows that if Charles is on the throne, he could almost have a double reign with his son," the Express quoted journalist Richard Eden as saying.

"It must be highly irritating for Charles.

The spotlight has turned away from him again and it's been a frustrating few years for him," agrees nobility expert Richard Kay.

When William and Kate toured the Caribbean, all media attention was focused on them.

Charles and Camilla's trip to Northern Ireland, which took place at the same time, received significantly less attention.

It remains to be hoped that the problem will not develop into a new, far-reaching scandal in the British royal family.
