The tent is already being set up, the anticipation is great: after a two-year break, tapping will start again on April 22nd at the folk festival.

Fürstenfeldbruck - There is only one tent and a small program - but a welcome afternoon for refugees.

Now that the corona restrictions have largely been lifted, nothing stands in the way of the Brucker Volksfest from April 22nd to May 1st.

"The anticipation is very great," says Mayor Erich Raff. After such a long time, people would long to be able to celebrate again.

"People want to get out again," adds speaker Markus Droth (FW).

Canceling the festival because of the war in Ukraine was a consideration, Raff admits.

"But we don't want to be dragged down." Instead, the aim is to get the citizens and the refugees to think differently for a few hours.

"It gives you courage to face life again." For this reason there will be a welcome afternoon for all refugees - regardless of their origin - on Tuesday, April 26th.

Children should be allowed to use the rides for free if possible, and there should also be a snack in the tent.

"We are still looking for sponsors to make this possible," says Droth.

According to Mayor Raff, the city is on the right track here.

Appearance of Reload

Otherwise, the tried-and-tested program with official afternoons, club days and family afternoons will remain in place.

While party music is played in the beer tent at the weekend, things are more traditional during the week – except for the performance by the band “Reload” on Monday.

Wednesday evening is dedicated to brass band music.

There should also be a Schafkopf tournament again – with a different organizer.

An innovation: instead of fireworks, there will be a laser show for the first time on April 29th.

"We have many traumatized children and families in the district," says Droth.

Two years ago, the Volksfest working group wanted to offer a laser show instead of rockets.

Now it's time for the premiere.

The only tent runs as proven landlord Jochen Mörz.

There is no circus tent.

"We put our heart and soul into it," Raff admits.

But the end is not permanent.

After the folk festival, the working group wants to think about the future concept of the small tent.

"It would be an option to hand it over completely to the clubs," announces the OB.

The city is still looking for a showman to fill the space.

It has become a little more difficult, reports festival organizer Daniel Brando.

"Many showmen have stopped, some also have problems with spare parts." Nevertheless, one is glad to have found enough showmen for a small folk festival.

Depending on the infection situation

With the abolition of the corona restrictions, there should be no restrictions outside, at least.

Depending on the infection situation, however, the head of the town hall could announce that access controls and masks are required up to the square.

The folk festival will open on April 22nd at 5 p.m. with a concert in front of the old town hall and the following parade.

The conclusion follows on May 1st.

The market Sunday on April 24th is also part of the program again.

Over 100 stands will be set up downtown.

"It's going to be a bit more spacious, with greater spacing," announces Droth.

And also a little smaller: On the one hand, fewer fierants have reported, Brando explains.

On the other hand, the Leonhardsplatz remains free, the end is already at the Amperbrücke.

Citizens can stroll from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., shops are open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
