A 40-year-old man from Northside Tayside said he suspected his girlfriend was cheating on him after receiving strange text messages from another man during the night.
When he tried to find out where the messages came from, he was surprised to find that they had been sent from his cell phone - and that the "mysterious lover" was no less than a ghost, since he did not remember writing those messages.
The man, who asked to remain anonymous, told Teesside Live that the two had visited a haunted area near York and then came the frightening messages.
Realizing that the messages were coming from his cell phone, he could not think of any other logical explanation.
The first message sent late at night asked the woman to "call again later" and the second contained a secret code that the man deciphered later and perhaps thanks to him came to the identity of the "spirit".

The man repeated: "When we were in York I took a picture of the hallway in the pub leading to the bathroom because I thought it looked scary." I did not think about it and just sent the picture to my girlfriend so she could see.
At 1:48 at night she received a text message from my phone that read 'Can you get back to me later?'.
I did not send this message because I was sleeping at the time, so we were both really confused as to where it came from.

About ten hours later, the guy found another message typed on his phone meant for his girlfriend, which read "we are inv 4n 2 z 4nb".
Like you, he too did not understand what the message meant and turned to Google hoping to decipher it.
He added: "I googled these numbers and found an equation created by the German physicist Erich Heckle. Hickle's formula (4n + 2) is a calculation of molecular orbitals on electronic systems. I've never heard of it and never used that equation, so I really I do not understand how she arrived at a text message that was not sent from my phone. "
Physicist Erich Heckle passed away on February 16, 1980.
The guy concluded that it was a ghost that sent the mysterious texts and equations from his phone.
He said: "Well this is a supernatural activity or someone managed to hack into my phone number and send text messages on my behalf. I do not know how the texts got there, none of us have sent them and none of us have received such messages since."
