A photo shared by a Ukrainian mother on Instagram shows the extent of the desperation in the Ukraine war.

The woman tagged her daughter because she fears the worst.

Kyiv - It's hard to imagine what fears the people of Ukraine have in view of the never-ending war of aggression against their country.

A picture of a Ukrainian mother that she shared of her daughter on the social platform Instagram makes the desperation almost unbearable tangible.

The picture was published by the Ukrainian mother and artist Sasha Makoviy.

Until recently, her Instagram profile picture showed her cheerful, completely normal photos: pictures of museum visits, excursions, travel and art.

There are also pictures of her daughter, a blond, two-year-old girl.

Sometimes with a pumpkin in hand, sometimes balancing on a fountain, sometimes with her birthday cake.

A normal child, a normal girl.

Ukraine war: mother tags daughter in case she needs to be identified

But the photo that Sasha Makoviy shared of her daughter on Saturday, April 2 shows that since the Ukraine war, nothing has been normal in the Ukrainian family's life.

The mother has written with a ballpoint pen on the bare back of the daughter, who is standing in diapers at a painting table.

You can read the child's name, date of birth, address and telephone number on it.

According to a translation of the British newspaper Daily Mail

, the mother writes

: "I labeled Vira in case something happened to us and someone took her in as the only survivor." Heard explosions from the Russian attacks.

"I wrote this with trembling hands," writes the Ukrainian artist about this terrible moment.

"Then I had an even crazier thought: why didn't I get her tattooed with that information?"

Ukrainian mothers tag their children - “And we are discussing gas here?”

According to the translation of

Bild

, other Ukrainian mothers commented under Sasha Makoviy's post that they are also tagging their children if something happens to them or the children themselves.

"I embroidered the information on my daughter's snowsuit," one mother reportedly commented.

Another: "I wrote it on my son's right hand, and I also sewed a piece of fabric with the numbers in his pants and jacket."

The German author and former RTL journalist Düzen Tekkal also shared the photo of the tagged child and provided it with an emotional text: "Ukrainian mothers write the names and dates of birth of their children on the children's bodies so that the children can be assigned if they die .” The journalist continues: “Imagine if we had to do this with our own children.

This is happening 1,100 kilometers from here.

And we are discussing gas here in Europe?

What a declaration of bankruptcy.”

Ukrainian mother has now fled with her daughter

Sasha Makoviy, who described her child's body for identification, has now fled to the south of France with her daughter, according to her Instagram account.

On Tuesday, April 5, she posted a picture of the blonde girl - this time smiling and holding a bouquet of yellow spring flowers.
