The Directorate of Health Affairs in the Homs City Council organized 244 seizures of violations against activities violating health conditions, and handled 136 complaints of health damage during the first quarter of this year.
The director of health affairs in the council, Dr. Kifah Othman, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the seizures varied between violations of not wearing a mask, neglecting hygiene, not cutting a health card, poor food storage, not wearing work clothes, slaughtering outside the slaughterhouse, and placing foodstuffs in unhealthy containers.
Othman added that since the beginning of Ramadan, evening tours have been organized during and after breakfast time to monitor bakeries, juice shops and restaurants in the city’s neighborhoods, where a food engineer and health monitors have been assigned to each sector.
