Among the newly announced deaths, four of them were younger, including a 59-year-old cardiovascular patient, a 59-year-old lung cancer patient, a 43-year-old patient with brain stem damage, and a 36-year-old patient with advanced renal failure.

Among them, the 36-year-old patient was a long-term patient who had been prescribed a new crown oral drug and eventually died.

Hospital Authority Chief Administrative Manager (Quality and Standards) Lau Ka Hin said that in the past 24 hours, a total of 84 confirmed patients died, including 53 males and 31 females, aged between 43 and 102.

In addition, due to the lag in data, from February 22 to April 4, a total of 27 people died unannounced, involving 14 men and 13 women, ranging in age from 36 to 95 years old.

Among the newly announced 111 deceased patients, four were younger patients. The details are as follows:


- The 59-year-old patient has high blood pressure, end-stage renal failure and cardiovascular disease. He needs blood washing three times a week.

He was admitted to the hospital due to asthma during the blood wash, but his condition deteriorated after admission and passed away yesterday.

- The 59-year-old patient suffers from lung cancer. The cancer cells have spread to the bones and brain. He originally needed chemotherapy, but it has been stopped recently.

- A 36-year-old patient with long-term ailments, including aortic dissection, endocarditis, and advanced renal failure, who had undergone heart valve replacement surgery and required abdominal lavage.

The patient went to the emergency room on March 30 for two consecutive days of loss of appetite and inability to defecate.

During the admission screening on March 30, he was found to be positive for the new crown virus. The hospital prescribed new crown oral medicine for him, but the patient's condition continued to deteriorate and he passed away on April 4.

- The 43-year-old patient suffered from brainstem hemorrhage in 2017, requiring long-term use of a ventilator and poor communication.

He has been admitted to Wong Tai Sin Hospital since 2018, and will be transferred to Grantham Hospital in 2021, where he will be admitted to the long-term care ward.

The patient tested positive on March 18 and was prescribed oral interferon and remdesivir by doctors.

However, there was no significant improvement after taking the medicine, and finally passed away yesterday.
