The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) today (April 6) announced the findings of an investigation into suspected violations of the law at a banquet at a dining premises in Wan Chai on the evening of January 3 this year.
A spokesman for the FEHD said that summonses had been issued to the catering establishment and a total of seven fixed penalty notices had been issued to six customers.
According to the photos of the party that have been exposed, Hong Weimin did not wear a mask that day, and even sang on the shoulder of Zeng Fengzhu, the fourth constituency election committee member, and held a microphone in the other.

The FEHD stated that in early January, the media widely reported that someone suspected of violating the applicable directions and other laws of the subsidiary legislation of the Prevention and Control of Disease Ordinance during a banquet event at a catering premises in Wan Chai attracted widespread attention.
Based on public interest considerations, the FEHD took immediate action to launch an investigation after learning of a possible violation of the regulations at the banquet.

According to the then applicable directions of the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (Cap. 599F), the person in charge of the catering premises is suspected of failing to post the correct floor plan showing the "Specified Area D" and the relevant details of each Proper notice of hourly ventilation.
The FEHD has issued a summons to the catering establishment, and the case is scheduled to be heard in court on April 22.

FEHD: The identities of those fined will not be disclosed
The FEHD added that in order to avoid disclosing the personal data of the persons concerned, the FEHD will not publish the identities of those who have been issued fixed penalty notices.
As the case has entered judicial proceedings, the FEHD will not make public the details of the investigation or comment on the incident.
During the entire investigation process, the FEHD treated all respondents equally, and did not adopt different standards based on the identity of individual individuals.
