Hamburg – Crime in Hamburg continued to decline in the second year of the corona pandemic.

"We don't have any quality-assured numbers yet, but what is emerging is another pleasing decrease in crime* compared to last year," said Hamburg's Senator for the Interior Andy Grote (SPD) of the German Press Agency when the statistics were presented in January 2022 .

The “district atlas” of the Hamburg police provides information on how many and which crimes are committed in which districts.

These are the most dangerous parts of Hamburg in the districts:

1. St. Georg (Mitte district): 16,874 criminal offenses
2. Harburg (Harburg district): 6000 crimes
3. Rahlstedt (Wandsbek district): 5064 crimes
4. Altona Nord: (District of Altona) 4,692 criminal offenses
5. Eimsbüttel (district Eimsbüttel): 3,971 crimes
6. Bergedorf (Bergedorf district): 3,664 criminal offenses
7. Barmbek-Nord (North District): 3,188 criminal offenses

Neuwerk: in Hamburg's safest place on the outer edge of the Elbe there have been no criminal offenses for years.
