Political earthquake: The chairman of the coalition from the right-wing faction, MK Idit Silman, is resigning from the coalition - against the background of the dispute with Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz over the introduction of chametz into hospitals during the Passover holiday.
Silman calls for the formation of a right-wing government.
Silman tweeted: "Unfortunately, I will not eat anymore. I tried unity, as one that comes from the worlds of the common good, I worked hard for the current coalition. Unfortunately I can not help the Jewish identity of the State of Israel and the people of Israel. I continue to follow this path because of the values and the place I come from. I will stop my membership in the coalition and I will continue to try to convince my friends to return home and form a right-wing government. I know I am not the only one who feels this way. "Injury, without any consideration for the public and the values I represent, is a red line for me. It is possible to form another government already in this Knesset."
Recall that the Knesset is on vacation and will return in five months.
Coalition sources say following Silman's announcement: "The government has not yet fallen. In a situation of 60:60, we will last until the end of March 23. If there is another retirement, that is a different story."
