Developing practical solutions to mitigate the global economic repercussions on Syria was the focus of a meeting held today at the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection and brought together representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, craftsmen and directors of Syrian institutions for trade, grain, bakeries, the Competition Authority and Anti-Monopoly Prevention.
The meeting discussed topics related to the mechanisms of pricing products and commodities, especially food and supplies, and their flow in the markets.
The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Amr Salem, stated that pricing is carried out according to the real costs that are presented, and in their presence, the pricing is fair and takes into account all parties, from the citizen, the merchant, the industrialist, the craftsman, the farmer, and all other activities.
Minister Salem indicated that the ministry is making great efforts to improve the reality of markets and their organization, ensure the smooth flow of goods and foodstuffs, control cases of fraud and trafficking, and secure bread in accordance with Syrian standards.
The Minister of Internal Trade pointed to the need for everyone to cooperate and work with absolute flexibility to overcome obstacles, indicating that the proposals will be presented to the government to take measures that contribute to alleviating the economic challenges that Syria and the world are witnessing.
