A Utah woman died Monday night after falling off a cliff in Arizona's Grand Canyon National Park, authorities said Tuesday.

Park rangers said Margaret Osswald, 34, of Salt Lake City, was near Camp Ledges along the Colorado River when she fell about 20 feet (6 meters) and suffered fatal injuries.

Authorities explained that Osswald had entered the canyon to join a river trip at the Phantom Ranch and

was on the sixth day of his private boat tour.

The National Park Service and the Coconino County Medical Examiner's Office are conducting an investigation into the incident.
