Between March 28 and April 3, more than 4 million antigen and PCR tests were carried out, against more than 3.8 the previous week, specifies the Directorate of Statistics (Drees) in a press release.
Demand is therefore still increasing, but at a much slower pace than in recent weeks.
The Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, also estimated on Thursday, on RTL radio, that the peak of the rebound of the Covid-19 wave was now behind us.
The government had decided to lower the price of tests again from April 1.
The price in pharmacies has gone from 20 to 16.50 euros, or 23% less.
For the other professions authorized to carry out tests (doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, midwives, dentists), the reduction is just over 4 euros, or between 20% and 30% depending on the case.
The USPO pharmacists' union "
always mobilized against this unacceptable drop
" has "
committed an appeal to the Council of State
", according to an info point released on Tuesday.
