A simple "I like" or "I don't like" is intended to facilitate contact between young people who are looking for an apprenticeship and companies that need trainees - with an unusual method.

The whole thing works like a dating platform on the Internet.

The initiative was launched by the districts of Fürstenfeldbruck and Dachau.

Olching – Create a CV, have a serious photo taken and write a convincing cover letter: the requirements for a formal application are often a hurdle for young professionals.

An online platform should make it easier to get in touch.

The low-threshold offer uses a communication channel that young people are familiar with from the online world.

"#Match your future" is the name of the initiative that the districts of Fürstenfeldbruck and Dachau have started together with merkurtz.media.

"Match" (German: to agree) is based on portals for finding a partner.

"Students who want to do an apprenticeship and companies that offer a job should find each other on a kind of dating platform," explained Markus Neubauer from merkurtz.media in a press conference that took place in the training workshop of the Amperverband.

The AV, which operates in both participating districts, was the first company to take part in #matchyourfuture.

People there are enthusiastic about the idea.

Own profile

"Everyone has their own profile on the platform, whether it's a student or an employer," explained Neubauer from merkurtz.media.

In addition to a photo, a student's profile can also contain information in the categories "About me", "My three strengths", "I am looking for" and more.

The same goes for companies.

According to Neubauer, data and facts about the company, career opportunities and training places can be entered here.

Then the matching process begins.

Pupils are shown company profiles, while companies are shown student profiles.

If the user likes the displayed profile, he clicks on yes.

"If you don't like it, you can simply reject it." If both sides agree, the so-called "match" occurs.

Via video

"There is no initial pressure for young people when they see there is a match with the company," said Neubauer.

From there, the future trainee and the company employee can write to each other, similar to a Whatsapp chat, or have video conversations.

"Corona has shown how difficult personal contact is," said Brucker District Administrator Thomas Karmasin.

In order to make it easier for future trainees to get to know employers, digital 'matching' will be initiated.” The style and language of the platform are something that young people like, said Dachau District Administrator Stefan Löwl.

"And that in times when the shortage of skilled workers is an issue."

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular FFB newsletter.)

Thomas König, board member of the municipal company for waste management (GfA), emphasized the chance that companies from the region could be seen via the platform.

"There are many small companies, so-called 'hidden champions', which are successful but go unnoticed," said König.

Until the start of the training initiative in autumn, companies from the districts of Fürstenfeldbruck and Dachau who are looking for trainees and would like to book a participation in the trainee event can now register.

This is how companies can take part in the digital trainee event

The digital trainee event under the motto "#match your future" will take place in the districts of Fürstenfeldbruck and Dachau on October 21st and 22nd.

On both days, the online portal will be open to students who are looking for an apprenticeship.

Companies from the district that are offering an apprenticeship from 2023 can now contact Markus Hamich, Regional Manager of merkurtz.media Fürstenfeldbruck, by telephone on (0 81 41) 40 01 32 or by email to markus.hamich@merkurtz.media Make contact.

Information can also be requested by email from wirtschaftsfoerderung@lra-ffb.de.

The district office will contact training companies and schools in the coming weeks.
