To put it figuratively, on Friday in Miesbach there will be a big Halali in the district group of hunters.

Two teams compete to form the new board.

A difficult situation after deep rifts have been drawn through the current leadership.

Miesbach – The question of how it came about that the current board of directors of the district group of hunters fell so fundamentally apart cannot really be clarified from the outside.

However, district chairman Martin Weinzierl, who is now leaving office after 27 years, seems to play a central role.

The fact is: with the "Gruppe Aktiv 21" (A21) and the "Team Waidblick" (WB) two teams will compete against each other tomorrow, Friday, from 7.30 p.m. at the general meeting in Miesbach.

Both present their candidates and goals in flyers and online, but while Team Waidblick emphasizes Weinzierl's merits - the number of members with around 650 has almost doubled, one of the financially strongest district groups - the Oberjäger is not mentioned at Aktiv 21.

This group is largely made up of the existing Executive Board.

Team Waidblick also confirms online a “deep rift” on the board.

When asked by our newspaper, both top candidates are keeping a low profile.

At least they agree on this: So close to the election, there is no point in smashing porcelain.

Weinzierl also held back when asked.

Both camps claim to be "advocates for the game" and "to give the animal a voice".

However, there are differences.

"Many of us have been involved for decades and have positions," says the previous deputy Wolfgang Mayr (53) with a view to his Active 21 team. The aim is open communication, involving the members and working together constructively.

A nod to Weinzierl?

Big or small solution?

Because Aktiv 21 is also planning the big solution when it comes to the composition of the board, wanting to involve as many people as possible in the work of the board with voting rights.

"We want to enlarge the board from seven to twelve members," explains Mayr.

The chairmen and women for women hunters' forum, horns, shooting, wild diseases and dogs should be integrated as assessors.

In addition, they want to secure additional expertise through the two specialist consultants Hubert Billiani (Hochwild, from Vorderriß) and Andreas Koepferrl (topography/local knowledge, from Gmund).

Waidblick, on the other hand, relies on a small decision-making unit as before, in which specialists are consulted in an advisory capacity.

It is important that you work well together, emphasizes candidate Bernd Richly (61): “Volunteering must be fun.

You need a clear break, otherwise things will continue as before.” With new people, his team stands for a fresh start and more active public relations work – similar to the action day recently on the Pfisterer-Wiese near Reichersdorf (we reported).

At first glance, the agendas of the two camps do not differ significantly.

In dialogue with the forest and its credo "Forest before game", it is important to preserve your own principle of "Forest with game" as far as possible - as well as the values of hunting.

The election is also exciting because team A or B is not selected in its entirety, but each position is voted on individually.

So it can happen that the new leadership is made up of constructive minds that work together, or a mixture emerges in which trench warfare continues.

So an important election, for which many members are expected in the large hall of the Waitzinger Keller.

After all: With the re-elected President of the Bavarian Hunting Association, Ernst Weidenbusch, there is a potential election officer who is familiar with power struggles and confrontational elections.

He kept his challenger Ernst-Ulrich Wittmann at a distance on Saturday with 318:273 votes.
